The cooperation program for 2020 was signed between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the United Nations Population Fund

On May 19, Head of the Human Rights and Integrity Building Center of the RA Ministry of Defense, Colonel Aleksandr Avetisyan and Executive Representative of the Office of the UN Population Fund in Armenia Tsovinar Harutyunyan signed the cooperation program for 2020 of the RA Ministry of Defense and the Office of the UN Population Fund in Armenia.

The activities envisaged by the cooperation program are aimed at promoting the initiatives to involve women in the different subdivisions of the Armed Forces. They are also aimed to assist the implementation of the national program 2019-2021 of the actions for the implementation of the provisions of the UN Security Council Resolution N 1325 on “Women, Peace and Security”.

The annual programs for the cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Office of the United Nations Population Fund in Armenia have been signed since 2014, targeting the protection of women’s rights and ensurance of equal opportunities in the Armed Forces.
