A meeting of the Interdepartmental Committee was held in the administrative complex of the RA Ministry of Defense

On February 7, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission was held in the administrative complex of the RA Ministry of Defense, which provided a conclusion on granting the status of participant of military operations to those who participated in the defense of the homeland.

Chairman of the Interdepartmental Committee, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan emphasized the importance of relaunching the activities of the Committee and presented the new composition of the Committee. Davit Tonoyan expressed confidence that due to the coordinated and rapid work of the representatives of the different state departments all the applications submitted to the commission would be thoroughly and objectively examined.

The activities done so far, the statistics of persons (including posthumous) who received the status of participant of military operations and the grounds for rejection of applications not complying with the established procedure were presented during the meeting. The participants of the meeting also discussed several provisions prescribed through the procedure for granting the status of participant of military operations to the participants of battles for the defense of the homeland, as well as the legal basis regulating the activity of the Interdepartmental Commission formed by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the existing problematic issues.
