On the eve of the Army Day, a Divine Liturgy was served in the St. Astvatsatsin Church

On January 26, on the eve of the Army Day, a Divine Liturgy was served in the St. Astvatsatsin Church, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin presided by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

The holy ceremony was attended by Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Artak Davtyan, Commander of the Defense Army, Lieutenant General Karen Abrahamyan, monks of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, representatives of the supreme commissioned staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, chaplains of the spiritual service of the RA Armed Forces.

At the end of the ceremony, a toast was made to the Republic with the leadership of Catholicos of All Armenians, during which a prayer was made for the homeland and for a victorious and strong army.

Then, an official reception was held at the hall of the Gevorgian Theological Seminary during which a number of high ranking military servicemen were honored with St. Nerses the Graceful Medal Award.

During the reception, a number of clergymen received the departmental awards.
