Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan received on 25 February Brig. Gen. (Rev) Guy Chapdelaine, the chaplain general of the Canadian Armed Forces.

The parties discussed issues related to the cooperation between the Armenian and Canadian armed forces’ religious bodies. The Canadian guest spoke about the chaplains’ roles in the Canadian Armed Forces in the chaplain-military-government format.

An agreement has been reached between the parties to cooperate and to share experiences during peacekeeping with regard to chaplains’ missions, Christian education of officers and soldiers and other issues of mutual interest. They also agreed to arrange training of two Armenian chaplains in Canada.
