On the same day, the Minister Tonoyan met With Afghanistan Defence Minister Tarik Shah Bahrami.

The parties discussed the regional military-political situation and possible developments, as well as issues related to the mission of the Armenian peacekeepers in Afghanistan in addition to other issues of bilateral interest. Minister Tonoyan suggested considering the possibility of Afghan students studying in Armenia and cooperation in humanities in the context of furthering the cooperation in the defence sector. He also thanked his colleague for warm reception. Minister Shah Bahrami, from his part, expressed contentment with the results of the visit and the participation of the Armenian peacekeepers in the Afghanistan mission.
