Chief of General Staff visits Greece

A delegation headed by Lt. Gen. Artak Davtyan, the chief of the General Staff, was on a working visit in Greece on 12-13 November.

On November 12, Lt. Gen. Davtyan met with Adm. Evangelos Apostolakis, the chief of Greece’s National Defense General Staff, and the leadership of the Greek Land Forces. They discussed issues related to the Armenian-Greek bilateral military cooperation, highlighted the directions of mutual interests to be reflected in the 2019 plan of the Armenian-Greek bilateral cooperation.

In the course of the visit, the Armenian delegation paid a visit to a Greek Land Forces tank training centre, where Lt. Gen. Davtyan planted an olive tree in the guests’ grove as a symbol of peace. The delegation also visited the Military Academy of the Greek Land Forces and met with Armenian cadets studying at the academy.

On 13 November, the delegation took part in the Athens-hosted International forum on crisis management and international strategy, called Athena 2018.
