Search-2018 joint tactical-special exercise wrapped up in Kazakhstan

The Search -2018 joint tactical-special exercise, with the participation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) armed forces intelligence troops, held in Kazakhstan, ended on 5 October.

Representatives of the intelligence services and special forces of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan participated in the exercise that was part of the Combat Brotherhood -2018 operative-tactical exercise of the CSTO Joint Rapid Reaction Forces.

The key objective of the exercise was the joint planning of the combat application of special forces and combined intelligence units, as well as the coordination of their operations and practical application in mountains with limited visibility, with troop deployment and live fire.

The stages of the exercise were held in five military training grounds and two training centres of Kazakh Armed Forces.

In the final round of the Search -2018 exercise, nighttime operations with live fire and assault systems were carried out.

The Command of the war games concluded that the training and combat tasks have been fully implemented. The soldiers from the participating countries - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan - gained practical skills in organizing, collaborating and coordinating subdivisions of the CSTO joint military operations.

Some 3,000 servicemen and more than 500 pieces of military equipment, including aviation and intelligence equipment and drones, were engaged in the exercise.
