Davit Tonoyan attends CIS Council of Defence Ministers meeting

Armenian Defence Minister Davit Tonoyan took part in the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Defence Ministers, held in Kizil, Russia, on 6 June.

Some 24 issues on the agenda were discussed during the meeting, including the development of the military cooperation between the CIS countries by 2020, the “Regional Security -2018” joint computer command and staff drills, the draft Agreement on Operation and Further Improvement of Joint (Unified) Communications System and Military Satellite Communications. All the CIS Council of Defence Ministers resolutions were signed at the meeting.

Army General Sergei Shoigu, Chairman of CIS Council of Defence Ministers and Russian defence minister, congratulated Davit Tonoyan on the latter’s appointment as Armenia’s defence minister and on the inclusion in the Council of CIS Defence Ministers.
